Help... Can't stop emotional eating! =((

  • Hi all!

    I tend have really bad sugar/junk food cravings from time to time (I am now!) and I don't know how to stop them! I swap junk food with fruit or seeds/nuts but I still over eat to a point where my stomach will rip. I have read endless websites and books about overcoming over eating but nothing has helped me so far. I am bored a lot (very hard to find something that amuses me) and know these cravings are emotional and not physical.

    I am hoping someone can relate to wut I'm going through and maybe talking about it with others will help me over come this issue.

  • I have had this problem in the past, and the only thing that worked long-term for me was discovering WHY I ate past the point of satiety all the time and WHY I constantly sabotaged my weight loss.I went to an eating disorder therapist, who helped me learn WHY I overate and how to think/reason my way out of a binge. Lots of them offer sliding scale fees if money is a problem. It doesn't happen overnight, and it's a lot of hard work, but you can find freedom from this. OA (Overeaters Anonymous) is another great option. Good luck!
