Ack! My Dog ate My IP Packet!

  • OK --- I'm new, as in just started this week new! I'm down 4 lbs in 4 short days, so I am hopeful this will help me get back on track.

I put my IP soup packet on my counter to prepare for lunch. But before I could prepare it, I needed to run an errand. Well, when I returned, my dog had gotten on the counter and ATE IT!

So my question is, what can I do to sub this particular meal?

I have a meal for today and tomorrow, but I need to figure out Sunday's lunch. I go back to weigh-in and restock on Monday.

    Thanks in advance!
  • I asked someone in another thread what the substitute for a packet was with eggs. I thought it was 1 egg and 3 egg whites but I couldn't find it here and I'm not sure on that.

Could you run to the store and get a pack of EAS Carb Control Shakes or a Muscle Milk Light and have one of those?
  • Yes, it is one whole egg and three whites that is equal to an IP packet. You could also get EAS Carb Control shakes or Pure Protein from Walmart/Target. Or a restricted Quest bar from GNC. Easy and all IP compatible.
  • Thank you ladies!
  • Pinky2012, You gave me an idea for what to tell my coach when I weigh in today if there is no loss Hope your week is going well!
  • @mars735 . . . . . . hey, the kids use it for not having their homework! But seriously, I should have taken a picture of it. I walked in the house and our black lab had powder on her nose and the foil packet was shredded all over our foyer rug with the evidence left behind. CRAZY!
  • Ahhh Black Lab....the dog I would have if I had a dog....I can imagine the picture you described. Did she look contrite? Well, if she ever develops a weight problem, you'll know just what to do : )
  • This made my day!

We have a 2 year old yellow lab. He is a terrible counter surfer! Just last week we lost 6 fresh buns and an entire loaf of bread to him over the course of 2 days. I guess I am not the only carbivore in this house! We have set up mouse traps on the counters now (only to scare him, not to hurt him) and he has set a couple off. I don't think he is very interested in counter surfing at the moment!

At least the buns and bread were things I wasn't eating anyways. If he ate one of my packets, there would be h*** to pay!
  • This is funny!

Our dog (a flatcoat retriever, who has now passed on) once ate our daughter's homework - really. She made one of those relief maps of Africa with salt dough, left it on the coffee table overnight, and the dog ate Madagascar! I was laughing so hard, I cried. Then I called my husband and asked him to go talk with the teacher because it just sounds like a story kids tell...

But seriously, labs to tend to overeat. We now have a yellow lab, and we are always working to manage her weight. So, maybe the dog understands this tendency and was just trying to follow your example?
  • That is hilarious. I had a Siberian Husky years ago that stood on his hind legs and ate an ENTIRE ROAST off of my mother's counter - she was NOT PLEASED. That same dog helped himself to my entire hamburger - took it right out of my hand before I even took ONE BITE when I turned to look at something. Dogs are hilarious.....love them!
