I'm trying to lose weight but I can't really exercise. I have 2 herniated disc, torn disc, disc degenerate disease, and a flat back all in my lower lumbar spine.
I've started yoga. The surgeon said if I can't get weight down, I'll be in nursing home in 15 yrs.
Anyone else trying to lose weight but can't exercise like normal people? What do u do?
I lost the majority of my weight with diet alone...and in fact, sometimes now when I exercise, I have more of an appetite also....I focused on healthy choices with a moderate-carb emphasis and then later joined a gym...but for the most part I did it without exercise
I have an extra vertebrae in my lumbar area, as well as frequent ruptured discs and a spine twisted permanently from a fall as a teenager...I saw a chiropractor for a year and he gently untwisted my spine as much as he could and I have had no more ruptured discs since then...
when I exercise, I try to focus on strengthening my core as well, because that helps support the weak areas of my spine
however, don't just take my experiences and advice...please be sure whatever you do is okay with your spinal doctor because you may make things worse
