sick of chicken

  • who has easy alternatives?
  • tofu, tempeh, turkey or any fish and seafood!
  • Fish, fish and more fish. Including canned. Endless variety. I eat six cans of fish a day and have fresh fish/seafood at the weekend. Yummy.

    Oh, and eggs.
  • A bit of red meat is good for your iron levels... for a change.
  • As are mussels.
  • i dont like fish unless its sushi but i like shrimp and other kinds of seafood.
  • Sorry, I use fish and seafood interchangeably but I get ya.

So go for it. May I suggest, shrimp, scallops, oysters, mussels, crab (even crab cakes), lobster, cockles, squid, octopus and clams. All delicious and absolutely fantastic for you.

OMG, pan-seared scallops are just about the best tasting, best for my weight loss food I have ever had.

Or is it lobster? Or fresh oysters? Now I am stuck!
  • Shrimp, crab.
You can get precooked shrimp for a decent price at Sam's or Costco.
  • Shrimp is a great option. I like to get the frozen, deveined, shell-on RAW shrimp in 1 or 2 pound bags. They defrost in minutes. Great for stir fry, salad, cocktail shrimp, and pretty much any dish that you may already make with chicken. It's more expensive per pound, but I find I don't need to eat nearly as much.

Turkey is a good substitute. Flavor is similar, but different enough that it feels like a change. Ground turkey in place of ground beef or ground chicken. Turkey breasts are tasty. I make turkey burgers and freeze them (raw) individually.

Those are the two things I eat probably as often as chicken because they are also rather affordable compared to lean beef and other seafood.
