What are your "go-to" foods?

  • What are your grocery store staples? What are your fave meals?


    Some of mine:
    Lean bacon w/ eggs (only 1 yolk) & a little cheese.
    Spinach salad w/ chicken, strawberries, & avocado
    Lean ground beef simmered with stewed tomatos
    Fiber 1 meal bars (dark chocolate & almond)
  • Canned fish. I have at least 30 varieties and eat 5-6 cans a day.
  • Ian, I don't see how you do it! lol. I'm not a seafood person, though. But something is working for you!

    I love hummus, but have never made it myself. I used to live close to this little place that served edamame hummus and it was amazing.

    I've never eaten tofu. I wouldn't know how to fix it anyway though. I should try it, at least once
  • Tomatoes are my thing. Cherry tomatoes are in season right now and I bought 2 kilos of them from the supermarket yesterday and I am sure they will be gone in a few days.

    For meals it was homemade pork burgers last night and with it getting warmer now in Portugal it is all about the slow cooker.
  • Veg
    Broccoli, string beans, romaine lettuce, greens
    Meat
    Beef (preferably organic or hormone-free and antibiotic-free) and chicken (preferably antibiotic-free)
    Snacks and things
    Unsalted almonds, ice cream (without corn syrup and unnecessary ingredients), salted popcorn (preferably organic), apples, strawberries, mozzarella cheese
    Beverages
    Green tea bags and bottled water
