Has anyone tried a water infuser?

  • I know that drinking a lot of water is healthy in so many ways besides spurring weight loss. I'm also not much a water drinker, so I've used Mio (peach-mango flavor--yummm) for over a year. I'm favor of natural products whenever possible so just got this on amazon. It's supposed to be all glass/stainless. I tried some that a co-worker had made and it was good.

The idea is like a tea ball, only instead of tea/hot water, you fill a hollow insert with fruit, cucumber, mint, or whatever you like and then it sits in the center of the carafe of water and the flavor permeates the water.

I haven't deployed it yet, but am excited !

  • That sounds neat! I'll bet strawberries would be refreshing. Let us know how it well it works

I've tried making mint water with fresh mint leaves, but it didn't taste as good as MetroMint. I'm growing new varieties of mint this year, so I'll give it another shot.
  • Raspberries are in right now, and cheap, so that's my first trial. It's simple & tastes good. Because the carafe only holds about 12 oz of water, I make it strong and then add to a bigger carafe to dilute with 2 L. Looking forward to getting creative with combos.
  • For the mint you need to crush the leaves to diffuse the flavor.

Thanks, Michou. That's next on my list, with lemon & cucumber.
  • Try some sliced strawberries or even some watermelon balls. Watermelon and mint are delicious together as well.
  • Oooh I love watermelon--never thought of mint with it. Thanks for the suggestion! I'm slowly losing my taste for Mio.
  • Hello I've been infusing my own water for a few months now. I love water plain too and drink loads but wanted to switch it up. I freeze strawberries and raspberries then put in water. The frozen fruit keeps the water cold and as it defrosts it flavours the water. Lemon and lime slice is good as well as my fav.... Watermelon chunks. Mmmmmmm
