Weight loss spurts

  • Does anyone else have weight loss spurts?

    I have been trying to lose weight and get healthier since March 1st. In my journey I have monthly goals. I track my weight daily and log it into my spreadsheet as well. This is what I noticed over the last three months.

    Every few weeks I seem to drop weight. Within 8-10 days I drop 10-14 pounds. Then for about 15-20 days not a darn thing. I will actually start to feel bloated and retain water and then it all lets go again(that 8-10 days weight loss period). I just started the purge of fluid again this week and in 3 days I am down 5 pounds.

    I count calories, try to keep it low sodium, and was just wondering if anyone else body does this? At first I thought something was wrong with my kidneys, but it seems that's not the case.
  • Like you my weight seems to fluctuate then bam a nice surprise. Water retention is my problem. I weight every day then make an average. the scale is not always the best tool, as long as my cloth are not as snug I figured I am fine.
