Had a bit of a slip up

  • I slipped up. Last night while waiting for dinner to finish cooking, I started snacking. Not as in whole candy bars but a few chips here and there. Enough to make me feel and Back on track this morning with my skinny and weighed out breakfast portion. I'm NOT going to lose those weight battle this time. Actually looking forward to after work tonight
  • Are we talking potato chips. Pity you are still cooking these. But really its probably not made the slightest difference.

Personally i find total avoidance and abstinence the easiest way. If i got hungry while waiting for dinner, as i actually had happen to day for my lunch, i'd try to eat something nutritious and healthy like fruit but i frequently have a glass of wine as that is allowed on my diet too.

I would definitely avoid anything that makes me worry or feel guilty or makes me feel as though i've slipped up. I just don't want that **** in my life anymore, that said, fries/potato chips are not off my food list. Just sweet things.

    Don't worry.
  • Something I have found after doing this for 4 years (and maintaining my 80 lb weight loss) is that I do not consider a "chip here and there" a slip-up at all. A slip-up would be eating 5 servings of chips! If it were even possible for me to just eat a couple of chips - that would be a huge victory for me!

One thing I have learned by watching the "normal weight" people in my life is that none of them abstain all the time and they all indulge once in a while. It's harder for me because I am a binge-eater, and I have a lot of trigger foods; but I now, occasionally, allow myself indulgences. When I stopped being consumed by guilt for eating a small piece of chocolate, the journey became easier and a lot more enjoyable. A major unplanned binge is a different matter...

I understand it was unplanned eating, and that can be disastrous; however, sounds like you kept in under control - bravo!
  • Like you said, you're back on track this morning. It's behind you and you're looking forward. That's exactly the way to handle a slip up. You should be proud of yourself for not letting it throw you!
