Frozen Coffee "Smoothie" Ideas

  • So, I have this great idea to make frozen coffee smoothies in my blender. I plan on brewing some coffee and then freezing it in an ice cube tray. I like the idea of making "smoothie bags" that I can just through in the blender quickly.

I plan on putting a few coffee cubes in the bag as a base. Since I will be using these for breakfast, I was thinking of prepping some protein shakes with milk and freezing them. When I blend both types of a cubes together, it should make a creamy frozen coffee, right?

Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? I'll probably give this a shot tonight and see how it comes out.
  • Sounds like a great idea. I don't have any suggestions, but I'm interested in hearing if anyone else does!

I've been making iced coffee a lot lately (I'm obsessed with cold-brewing), and I've also been having fruit & veggie smoothies for lunch. I tried to turn my iced coffee into a smoothie of sorts last week but it didn't turn out so well. I poured in the coffee concentrate, then added ice cubes and milk and it was just...weird, almost fluffy? I don't think I executed it very well :P
