M.I.A. Monday

  • Wow, was everyone running late this morning? Hope mornings started out without too much Monday-related stress

Not much going on here, just work and more work during the week and gardening and birding on the weekends (and some work )

Hm, maybe a cup of coffee? Anyone else indulge in mid-afternoon? I can make an extra cup
  • Wow, how bizarre! I saw you on here way earlier, Cyndi, but no one else. I just got off work, and eating lunch (crack slaw kinda leftovers).

Maybe because no one's Monday is too exciting, or they're all in denial?
  • Only 2 posts in today's Daily????? I was here around 6:30 and tried to post, but I kept getting called away. It was one of those crazy mornings, and then it was time for me to leave. That's MY excuse.

Nothing extraordinary happened today. Today's is our official anniversary, but we celebrated yesterday, so it was just the routine Monday Madness at the farm. We brought home "doggie bags" from dinner last night, so that makes for a quick and easy supper tonight.

Cyndi, I indulge in a cup of coffee whenever the moods strikes, no matter what time of day it is, and I really like a cup as my dessert after supper. Shall I make you a cup?

Tammy, did you pick up your new car today? You're probably out taking a ride in it right now, lol!
  • I could have sworn I was in here this a.m. but maybe not.

Worked on a financial screw-up all morning and was at out Mill Board meeting from 1 PM until after five. Then my neighbour came over to ask if it was OK to cut some scrub trees that are infringing on his lane. He is going to do it which suits me fine! He is a very devoted young Daddy who had his little DD, Stella who has just learned to walk. She kept walking in circles, dragging Daddy along and laughing as only 13 moth kids can do. A real sweetie! However, I did not volunteer to baby sit!

Now it's Scotch, light the BBQ and watch the news until it's ready. Steak and roasted asparagus plus a nice green salad on the menu followed by early bed tonight for sure! Two students to interview tomorrow.
  • I would love a cup Cottage. We stopped at the new coffee shop for a latte and it was so awful that I just couldn't drink it.

Making my favorite broccoli cheese soup with white beans. I can't believe it's still soup weather!
  • Oh Cyndi, don't you hate it when you buy a yucky cup of coffee?!

Cottage, my new car was just delivered!!! I haven't drove it yet. We might have to go to library tonight . Congratulations on the long marriage!! Any tips!?!

Ruth - your little neighbor girl sounds adorable!

Making jambalaya for dinner! I had a 3 mile run earlier to burn off those nasty treats I made for yesterday.
  • Hey ladies! I peeked while I was at work (can't really post from there) and wondered where everyone was! Sounds like a bunch of us had busy Monday mornings!

    Tammy, enjoy your new car!!
Cottage, belated congratulations. I think it is great to reach such a milestone.
Ruth, this looks like the only nice day this week. You are smart to enjoy it. Looks like my daffodils are going to open soon.
Cyndi, one of DH's biggest complaints is restaurants that serve lukewarm coffee. He prefers his scalding hot. And I make a cup of decaf virtually every night after dinner.

    Enjoy your evening, chicks.
  • Cyndi, wouldn't it be nice if we could sit and have a nice relaxing coffee together? We're going to have to make a point of doing that, one day.

Tammy, you asked for tips on a long marriage. I'm certainly no expert and Jake and I have had our moments. He's not always an easy person to live with. Just ask Ruth why she calls him an old Curmudgeon, lol! Marriage is a lot of give and take, and remember to always keep the lines of communication open.
