Extracts

  • Hi guys n gals... I know we can use vanilla extract...Can we use ANY extract for flavoring as long as its a tsp per day? EXAMPLE...I Wanted to use Maple extract in a recipe.
  • I have seen a lot of recipes that call for extracts. I haven't seen any IP paperwork, but I would think it would be ok....especially if sparingly and not a frequent thing.

    I do
  • I used orange extract, mint extract, raspberry extract, etc. in the IP chocolate pudding/shakes. Yum! I never had any problems.
  • Interesting... my coach told me no extracts. Vanilla has alcohol in it. Not sure about the others.
  • I don't know why your coach would say no Vanilla
Ideal Protein uses in vanilla in some of their official recipes

here is one I just copied from my ideal protein:

    Chocolate Cake in a Mug

    Ingredients:
•1 package of Ideal Protein chocolate drink mix
    •1 egg white
    •1 tsp baking powder
    •1 tsp grapeseed oil
    •1/2 stevia packet
    •A dash of vanilla
•1 tbsp. Walden Farms syrup (raspberry, caramel, or chocolate)

    (serves one)

    Instructions:

Pour the chocolate drink mix into a large microwave safe mug. Add enough water to bring to a slightly watery pudding consistency. Add egg white, baking powder, olive oil, stevia and vanilla while mixing vigorously until silky smooth. Place the mug in the microwave for three minutes on top of another plate. Carefully remove the mug from the microwave, drizzle with your Walden Farms syrup of choice, and enjoy!
  • Thanks guys <3 I am very excited about using them YUMMM the ability to mix things up is Music to my ears <3
