I've Made a Promise to Myself

  • Took forever, but I finally got in. Activation was giving me fits!

So I'm Devin, and I'm 34 years old and weigh about 300 lbs. I've promised myself that I'm going to lose the weight that I need to lose so that I can begin safely horseback riding again. I'm eager to reach that point, but I'm also terrified that losing the weight will redefine me.

I'm not all that heavy an eater, mostly just sedentary. I eat a lot of vegetables and have had to avoid fats because of my liver and gallbladder, so I'm hoping that if I can get more active, I'll see a change!
  • Welcome and good luck on your journey!!
  • Welcome! I love your goal! It's nice to have an activity to shoot for! When I started my journey I made one of my goals to participate and finish a 5k. It was great when I did my first one and I've been hooked ever since!

Urban walking/running doesn't appeal to me, but hiking is a serious goal of mine. I want to be able to get out in the woods and hike or go camping, and there's no way that I can do it at the weight that I'm at right now.

This winter weather isn't helping though. It's snowed four inches so far today
  • Welcome to 3fc and good luck!

I have been doing Leslie Sansone videos from youtube when I can't get out in these endless cold snowy days. I have learned through this weightloss experience that my diet choices are so much more important than my exercise and I'm sure the same is true for a lot of people here.

I can feel the excitement in your posts, I'm excited for you and your success!
