60 years old with weight issue

  • Hello to all!

My name is Margaret. You will have to excuse if I get lost here. I'm a pretty old woman and computers are something which I'm not familiar with I easily find my way around in a kitchen than on a computer Now you know where does my weight problem come. Joking

My weight problem started when I was about 56 year old. I started going into menopause then and my metabolism and everything started slowing down. The only thing that didn't slow down was my eating. That didn't keept he pase with my metabolism and in 3 years I gained amazing 120lbs.

I am here to seek help from other, discuss weight problems and possible solutions tho them

Hope we'll have something to talk about.
  • Welcome Margaret! This is an excellent forum and I'm sure you'll have a lot of people chiming in to help you out in your journey. Since your weight gain started at the onset of menopause have you followed up with your doctor? You also mentioned that your eating is the only thing that hasn't slowed down...are you eating more now than you did before or is the same as before menopause? Have you thought about what you'd like to try? There are many different plans out there, the main thing is just figuring out what works best for you. I love a sense of feeling full so I lean towards high protein low carb. I would check with the doctor if you can though to make sure there is nothing else going on...maybe hormonal? or vitamin deficiencies? that started the weight gain. I didn't realize I had unerlying blood sugar issues and experienced a large weight gain in my 20's. It's taken me all this time to get things in balance. Good luck!
