Anyone who is diabetic and also doing IP?

  • I am on day 3 and so far so good. I've had no terrible side effects! Yay! I am diabetic and was wondering if anyone else here is and how you weight loss results have been? Thanks for any info and encouragement!
  • I am diabetic. My diabetes nurse practitioner that I see quarterly was who recommended ip to me! Test your blood sugars! I was able to stop my medication within 3 weeks of being on plan! Work with your Dr! This plan is great for type 2 diabetes. I cant speak to a type one,....

I lost14 pounds my first month! Ymmv!!
  • My A1C went from 7.0 in March 2013

    To 6.5 in September 2013

    To 5.8 in December 2013

My M.D. told me in December that I am NO LONGER DIABETIC

My blood sugars actually came in line after only about 2-3 weeks on the IP diet (with daily ranges from about 90 to 119 just a few weeks in on Phase 1) -- however it takes 3 months for the A1C (which is a 3 month average blood sugar) to really show the results.
  • Thanks Sooo much ladies! So glad to know it's working for you guys!
  • Avalon, that's great news!!!
  • I was considered "pre-diabetic" Type II prior to starting IP. As others have indicated on here, within a week or two after starting IP I got very weak. Tested my blood sugars and they were in the 50's. I immediately made a dr appt and my dr pulled me off my medication. One of the great side effects of IP.
