  • Hey everyone! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and there was not too much damage done over the holidays. I want to reach my goals by the end of 2014.

    I’m wondering would anyone like to join me in a yearly challenge? Now, don't panic at the thoughts of going into this from January 1st to December 31st! For me, it would be near impossible to stay focused for a full year so I have decided to split the year into 8 challenges or 8 mini targets to reach. Each challenge represents a time during the year.

    Challenge 1: New Years Day to Valentine’s Day (January 1st to February 14th)
    Challenge 2: Valentine’s Day until April Fools Day (February 15th to April 1st)

    Challenge 4: Mother's Day until Independence Day (May 11th to July 4th)
    Challenge 5: Independence Day to Labor Day (July 4th to September 1st)
    Challenge 6: Labor Day to Columbus Day (September 1st to October 13th)
    Challenge 7: Columbus Day until Thanksgiving Day (October 13th to November 27th)
    Challenge 8: Thanksgiving Day to New Years Eve (November 27th to December 31st)


    Weigh in days for challenges will be once a week. I weigh in on Friday, you may edit your post with your weigh in date.

    I will post a new thread for each new challenge as they approach. This means the thread will not get super duper long by end of the year. Also, anyone can jump in at any point in the year!

  • I so missed doing these challenges while pregnant! I'm currently 3 weeks postpartum and this seems like an excellent way to start the new year. I'm adjusting all dates to coincide with my Wednesday weigh-ins. My goal is to hit an average of a one pound loss per week, which would take me down to 214 for 2/14!.

    notes: w00t! I was extra vigilant with my eating this week and I think it paid off, especially since TOM started today.I'm anxious to see the doctor next week to see if I can get back to working out.

    notes: I hope I can keep this rate up! I can start on more exercise now but I need to get a schedule figured out.

    01/29/2014 goal: 216

    notes: Not bad, considering that I'd had a huge burger the night before weigh-in.

    Actual weight: 218.5
    notes: I'm up three pounds, likely due to two indulgent days this past week, especially the night before weigh-in! I'm going to do my best to make up for it this coming week.

    02/12/2014 goal: 214
    Actual weight: 212.5
    notes: Wow, 6 pounds this week! I'll take it, lol. I'm pretty sure my gain last week was mostly water weight, so dropping that was a huge boost. I've also lowered my calories for both breakfast and lunch so I'm sure that's helped as well.

    GOAL = SURPASSED!!! On to the next challenge!
  • I'm in! At this time my goal is to lose my holiday weight and get back down to my lowest weight of 218. If it turns out that most of the weight is water weight that's quickly lost I might adjust my goal mid-challenge.

  • Sounds like a plan. I am wanting to lose 20lbs by 2/14. I know it is a big goal but that I always lose a bunch when I first start exercising again and I haven't been doing anything in a long time. Valentines Goal - 287

  • I would like to join. I love that you divided the year up into 6 challenges already. I am a 42 yr. old nurse and mom to a DS 11 and a DD 9. My husband and I will be married 19 years this year May 19 and I would love to be at my marriage weight of 185lbs by then. I started last year at 253.2 lbs. I did make it down to 199lbs but ended up having a rough last few months of the year and my exercise fell off the wagon and the food control went with it. So I ended the year with a gain up to 216.4. I would like to end 2014 below 165lbs. New years day weigh in 213.4 so that would be I need to lose 48lbs by the end of the year. I will set the goal for Valentines day at 205lbs. I would be ecstatic if I will be at 200lbs or below by Valentines. If I make it down to below 200lbs I can get my Alex and Ani Bracelets back which is what I give myself for each time I reach a goal. When I get to 200lbs I will restart wearing my bracelets again. I get to go to the spa for a day when I am below 185lbs and will have to come up with a reward for when I hit below 165lbs.
