Chat to bust the fat

  • Hi there. I am a 45 year old mom of 3 grown children who has embarked on yet another weight loss attempt. I am currently following the Hairy Dieters books and I am down 3kg in just under 2 weeks which has me flirting with 199lbs/ 90kg and I don't want to see it go back up, ever.

I deliberately googled "active weight loss forums" because I need somewhere to come and chat instead of going to the fridge.
  • Welcome! As a 46 year old mom of three grown children as well, I can attest that you can do this! Reading and posting on 3FCs has been a real support to my efforts and I'm sure will help you too. Be sure to check out the 40-somethings thread and the Chicks Up for a Challenge area, and the Mini-Goals and Goals stories are very inspirational.
  • Hey there, come join us in the 40-somethings forum December Chat Thread, we're all really nice if I do say so myself!

I had never heard of "Hairy Dieters" and of course had to google. Those guys seem like fun!
  • Hi Leeh! You've come to the right website! 3FC is a wonderful place for support, encouragement, tips, advice. You name it, you'll get it here, lol! Feel free to join the December Weight Loss Challenge thread: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/chic...challenge.html. We're a very chatty, supportive group there, and we love when new people join in! Good luck on your weight loss journey!
  • Welcome to 3Fatchicks. Support is key.
Okay, Immediately checked out the who these guys are. Recipe's seem yummy. Now ordering the book.
  • Thank you so much! I am sure I will visit all the different threads

There are a few recipes online if you want to try them out first. I have a friend in Scotland who lost a whack just following along and her thin husband never complained once about the food. Portion control is key for me because logically I know what to do and realistically I know that I don't stick to the carb free or all protein type diets even if they work on the short term for me. I lose and then I go off the wagon. With these recipes it is about learning to be satisfied with a couple of chunks of potato or a bit of pasta and rice. So far so good. I am sure I'll have my binge time at some point but I am hoping they are fewer and far between the healthy eating times.
