New to Ideal Protein

  • Hello all! My name is Tony and I am from the North East. I have yo yo'd back and forth for a few years and have finally decided to take the plunge. I lost a lot of weight on the South BeachDet, but it seems and is a "forever" diet. So,back on October 27th, I weighed in at 243 and started to "watch what I eat" and exercise. However, that took off 6 lbs in 3 weeks. Not too bad, but not how I wanted to lose the weight. I started IP on Sunday 11/17. Had my first weigh in on 11/26 and was down 11 LBS! THAT is my inspiration! I watch the scale drop daily, as I follow the program TO THE LETTER! That is hard for someone who went out to eat 4 or 5 times a week and enjoyed a martini each evening. Yes, my wife is also on the program too and she has lost 6LBS the first week. This is an expensive diet for sure! However, if the goal is met and we can go back to normal food, but be educated on HOW to eat normal food, it will al be worth it!

My goal weight is 170 to 180. I am inspired by all here and will continue to update!

The first week is the hardest, and well, there are only so many ways to make vegetables, but I keep telling myself that it is only 12 to 14 weeks, I can do it! I am 2 weeks in, so hopefully, 10 weeks left! It is a challenge when one has a business meeting, but so far I have done OK.
  • Hi Tony and Idahogirl! to both of you! Be sure to check out the IP board here at 3FC under "Pre-packaged Meals" in the Diet Central section! Tony, it looks like you are off to a good start! Good luck!
  • GREAT start!

Thanks, I am following it to the letter. Hard? yes, but do I want it (thinner self) bad enough? YES! The weight did not go on overnight, but over 3 years. So I can deal with the 3 or 4 months to take it off. It was suggested I wait until the holiday season ended to start, but then I would just weigh more! So that is why I opted for NOW to start.

I am on the way to check out the section you mentioned!
  • Starting IP tomorrow
    I am so excited!!
I have been roaming on these forums the entire last week. I even ordered some alternative food just to keep the cost down.
I got my initial weigh in today and I am ready!
