Scallops

  • The sheet says I can have 4 large scallops. Will that equal 8oz? Or are we not suppose to eat 8oz of scallops? The scallops I bought I wouldn't consider large but I have no idea how many I should cook...
  • I would measure 8 oz uncooked and have that.

Its my understanding from my IP /Chiro Scallops are fattier...therefore the restriction...I believe 8 Oz may be too much.

You may want to clarify with your coach...or maybe someone else can chime in. Personally, I just avoided scallops for the entire time I was on P1 because I knew I would not be happy with 4! They are one of my favs......
  • According to what I find, scallops could be better than chicken breast in terms of calories, fat, and cholesterol. I would say going for 8 oz. is OK.

  • Let's compare raw to raw since everything is weighed before cooking

Here is a recipe from an IP center. Re: amt

  • I am not on IP but scallops are awesome. SO low in calories. SO high in protein. SO delicious. A 6 ounce serving is normally sufficient.

To pan sear, heat some oil in a pan. Get that oil HOT.

Put the scallops in. Time for 2 minutes 30 seconds. Do not touch them. Then turn over and cook for another 2 minutes 30 seconds. Eat straight away.

Do not overcook scallops. They go rubbery. I am delighted to see the IP diet allow its users to eat something healthy for once.
  • Lean meat & protein and low cab veggies ARE healthy
