Admitting there is a bit of a problem!

  • So over the course of the summer I have managed to gain 25+ pounds, and it is time to stop pretending that I am doing an OK job maintaining my health and my weight by continuing to do what I am doing! I've joined this website to find others who are looking to lose weight and to maintain my motivation to lose weight!

I am starting graduate school next week and I KNOW things will get challenging in the food department because of how busy I'll be and all of the events I'll need to go to that have food lying around. So I need all the support that I can get....and for me, anyway, giving support helps keep me on track, so I am hoping to be able to do that too!!

    Nice to meet you all.
  • Nice to meet you!
  • Hi Lacie!! Thank you for your welcome.
  • Good luck!
  • Hi Archaic! You'll find lots of support here! I'm glad you plan to post to support others too because the more you become involved, the more motivated and accountable you'll stay. Consider joining one of the threads under "Chicks Up for a Challenge": http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/chic...challenge-159/. The new September weight loss and exercise challenges will be starting up tomorrow and there are lots of other daily and autumn challenges to join there too. It's a great way to get a fresh start! Good luck!
  • I wish you all the best! welcome!
  • Welcome, archaic1! Starting graduate school is a challenge, but it's also a good opportunity for change. What could you stop doing now? What could you start doing now? In graduate school, I practiced avoiding mediocre food (store-bought cookies aren't worth the calories) and keeping healthy snacks in my book bag or purse.

Good luck with both your weight loss and graduate school!
