  • Hi, Any suggestions on what to eat at Chili's for P1?

    Thanks!
  • they seem to have a "lighter side" menu....like you could get something like "Lighter Choice Grilled Salmon (cal. 580)

Served with rice and steamed broccoli."
just ask them to double the broccoli and forget the rice

there is also a steak or a chicken choice on that menu.

anything else you'd have to ask them hold JUST about everything.
  • Thank you! I missed seeing that Salmon option...I'll have to look better! Sounds good!
  • my clinic recommends the following at Chilis:

Margarita chicken - hold the rice, beans and tortilla stirips get double steamed broccoli instread: ask for a second peice of chicken to get to 8 oz - small upcharge applies

Grilled Salmon with Garlic & Herbs -Guiltless - no rice double broccoli

Custom combo: get the margarita Chicken with the spicy garlic shrimp hold rice & beans & tortillas double broccoli

This is EXACTLY what I order at Chili's. make sure you say NO BUTTER on the broccoli, otherwise it will arrive drowning in salty-seasoned butter.

  • I called Chili's to find out what their Margarita chicken is marinated in. Only nutrition facts were listed on their website, not ingredients.

It is marinated in Margarita mix which is full of sugar. I wouldn't recommend ordering this.
  • Very interesting Idealproteinnewbie

I will mention it to my coach at my next meeting - they actually gave us a handout listing that as a good choice. This shows we really do have to double check info because one again it seems the clinics don't check into what they put out all that well.

I haven't been to Chili's since I started. So luckily I have not followed their bad advice

    Sorry for the misinformation NewEnglander

  • Art3mis:

85 grams of carbs - holy crap!

I'm gonna print that link and bring it to my coach on Monday - so they will take that enrtee out of their recommendations.

    Thank you.

Going to look up other foods now and shock myelf

I'm pretty sure those carbs are with the rice and beans, tortilla strips, but regardless - the chicken because of the marinade is still not OP no matter how you look at it.

BTW did you also see how much sodium is in that dish?!!! OMG! 2980 mg!!
  • Whenever I got to Chili's on IP I order the 10 oz. steak, without the buttery/parmesan topping they put on it, and for TWO sides of steamed broccoli, without any butter. Tell them you are intolerant to dairy if you like. They are always very kind and accomodating to me.
  • I do the lighter side salmon and lighter side broccoli (which what I was told means no butter).
  • Tip well if they get it right...
When I'm out..I ALWAYS tell them up front..."I'm high maintenance...so sorry (smile...bat eyelashes)...and need my food fixed very plain...Gluten free....{which I truly must adhere to and have for almost 8 years....good for anyone on IP because it ensures no bread crumbs or dusting anything with flour}..Sodium free and SUGAR free. No sauces of anykind because of strict dietary issues...TYVM!" (thank you very much...)
Amazing how accommodating every restaurant has been from Ruths Chris to the local breakfast diner where we stop on the way to the airport for early flights, and every place in between.... !! We tip a few $$ more each time when we leave...mentioning "My order isn't easy...thanks for getting it right..." and hope that makes an impression on staff which in turn makes it easier for the next person who makes and needs a similar request. They remember you the next time you're in too... (the service is attentive because they want that tip!) I overhead one waitperson at a Marriott hotel say I'll take them again this AM...she has a lot of dietary restrictions and allergies and I'm familiar with the problem..." That's fine with me!!
