  • Hmmmm hope everything is ok with you Lisa. You normally get us going with the new thread every day, and I didn't see one for today.
  • Overslept. Ahhh...vacation!
  • Quote: Overslept. Ahhh...vacation!
I forget you have summers off. I'm jealous!
  • I'm at the Beach on vacation right now too. I rarely sleep this late. Usually wake up between 5-6
  • So this is the start of my 5th day on IP. I have felt really great so far. I didn't have my 8 oz of coffee yesterday morning and was so sleepy by 4:30pm and had such a bad headache that I took an hour and a half nap. That's not like me, so do you think it's maybe a detox scenario or do you really think 8 oz of coffee could have such an affect on me?

My weight is actually down 9 pounds from my initial weigh-in, but I think my weight was super elevated from the July 4th holiday eating and drinking non stop for 3 days.

I love reading the recipes and I am looking forward to being very creative as way of staying OP.
  • shayb that sounds like carb withdrawal. You should feel better today or tomorrow.

Nice! Good luck with your first week.

Today is only my 10th day, and I haven't been hungry at all, but the first few days I did feel very fatigued. I napped a lot, and had a hard time motivating to go to class (I'm in law school). I was just sort of tired and groggy. The fog did lift, though, and I've been feeling more like myself again. It's probably what ragdoll said, about the carb withdrawal.

If you are addicted to caffeine, that can definitely cause headaches, though. My bf works at a coffee roastery, so he drinks a lot of coffee. If he doesn't have a cup within the first few hours he's awake, he gets a migraine every time.
  • Lisa: I hope you are enjoying yourself at the beach! I'm jealous - we've been back for almost 2 weeks and I wish we were still at the beach.

Ninjanurse: Sorry to hear you are struggling. I don't have any great advice but I definitely feel your pain. the long haul is monotonous on IP. In the real world (non IP) summer seems to be all about FOOD. I never noticed or thought about it before IP but you are right. I feel it too.

I have recently discovered crackers made from the crispy cereal and brownies made from the chocolate drink that are filling a void I was feeling. Keep mixing up the recipes - it might help. I also like my chocolate and vanilla IP stuff mixed with really strong decaf coffee instead of water before I freeze them or blend them with ice for a mocha/different flavor

I was caught quite by surprise yesterday while out shopping when a pair of size 10 jeans fit me. Best NSV for me yet.

I'm the "mom jeans" type and saw a pair of skinny jeans at the mall a few months back - I loved them -but they were way to expensive and I was way too big.

Recently I saw a knockoff of them - and still I really liked them.

Yesterday I was out shopping and walked by the knockoff pair -they were on sale for $24 and they had only size 8 & 10. I decided to try on the 10, I'm currently wearing 14, hoping the 10 would be close enough to zipping to fit by Sept for back to school. The 10 fit!! I checked the tag inside to make sure they were not mislabeled. I just couldn't believe it. I practically skipped to the cash register to buy them.

When I got home I put them on, my son said they were "BAGGY" in the butt. Maybe I will go back and buy the 8 so I can wear those in the fall.

this was the boost I needed because I'm getting a little burnt out with the scale bouncing around and not staying down - it seems to go up every monday w/o fail and that is my clinic weigh in. But inches are still coming off and apparently I have gone down in pants sizes so I'll keep on keeping on.
  • Hi everyone - I started Phase 3 of my mini-phase off this morning, as I leave for my trip to Europe next week.

I might be posting this in the wrong forum - but I feel very spacey right now. I am wondering if others have had similar side effects when re-introducing carbs/sugar in Phase 3. Oddly enough, I feel almost the same as when I started Phase 1! I was struggling with my blood sugar before starting IP, which thankfully IP has taught me how to control, and I think it might be my body re-acclimating to having sugar again! Any advice would be helpful

I have that feeling every time I have any grains, almost a buzzed feeling. I don't eat them on a daily basis anymore in maintenance, it's reserved for my once weekly cheat meal.

How long did it take before you had more energy? I know the second day I just sat on the couch and just had no energy at all. Yesterday I couldnt even keep my eyes open around 4:30 pm. But today, I feel pretty good.

I worked at Starbucks for about 6 months to pay off my graduate school, but I never got "addicted" to caffeine. I had my 8 ozs this morning because I like the "ritual" of having it.
  • Good morning all. So excited for all the new peeps and people making changes, on vacations, planning for vacations, etc.! Tonight my boyfriend comes home from DC and tomorrow we head up to Lake Tahoe for the weekend. While we were just away for camping, I am looking forward to being out of town again. We are spectating at Tough Mudder on Saturday and so I am planning my food already. Good times!
  • Hello...I'm a diet coke addict. Its been 25 days since my last pop and the start IP (alternative). What a struugle, but I do feel better and it really cut down on cravings for sweets & salty smacks. So much is based on habits we form when we are not even aware of it. Here's to a more thoughtful & authentic day!
