25!25!25!

  • 25 lbs gone. Yippee! Now, what kind of a treat do I want for 135, hmmm.
  • Very cool, especially as your starting stats are almost the same as mine (you are a half inch taller). It is good to see success from someone who follows the same kind of calorie counting plan and is also on the petite side.

    Congrats
  • Oh zadie! I love the word petite! Come on down. It feels good down here!
  • So, what did you set your daily calories at? I set mine at 1200-1500, but it was really not based on anything in particular. I figured out my basal metabolism and roughed out the ammount of calories that I use in a day, but it was really just punting.

I figure that if you are under 5'4'' you are petite. It is really not a bad thing. Only disadvantage is that the weight gets spread over a smaller height, but I suppose no one would be overweight if everyone suddenly became sever feet tall.
  • I was in a hurry. No reason, just impatient. I tried 1200 and some days undercut. My big thing was being extraordinarily sedentary.
Just lately I've tried counting my calories late in the day. I only eat when I'm hungry and then go for the healthy foods I now keep in the house. Comes to about 1450 or 1500. I'm much more active and feel pretty good.
Oh yes, I did the wrist measurement thing today and it says I have a medium frame. But I'll consider myself petite if you insist. I realllly like that word!
  • The frame size is a different measurement that whether you are tall, average, or petite...petite is your height...I think petite is 5'4" and under, average is 5'4"-5'-7" and tall is anything over that. The frame size is how "big boned" you are-and has nothing to do with your height-it is possible to be very tall and small framed/boned or very short and large framed. My SIL is petite at 5'2" but is very large framed-she has broad shoulders, wider hips, and larger wrists and fingers...I on the other hand am average-tall at 5'7" and am small-medium framed, with narrower shoulders, a smaller head, and slender wrists and hands. When we stand back to back her sholders are wider than mine are...and she has a slightly larger head, neck, wrist, etc.
This is why it is important to consider frame size as well as height when deciding on a goal weight/size...not everyone who is 5'5" tall can be a size 4...you ladies are doing great! Keep up the good work!

  • Hi Tooround!!!

Wow...our stats are kinda the same...I am 5'2.5" as well. I am roughly weighing 135 or a little over these days. I decided I should start paying more attention again to my eating habits because I have been eating way too much when I am not hungry.
The only exercise I do is speed walking on the treadmill. I am thinking to start out eating 1500 calories a day, because I eat a lot more than that now and do not gain weight - so i know I lose weight even if i go slightly over 1500 cals.
For some reason your post really inspired me!
    Thanks!!!
