What Doctors think they know about the link btn obesity and diabetes my be wrong

  • An interesting TED talk:

What we think we know about the connection between obesity and diabetes may be wrong. Surgeon Peter Attia answers questions about his bold talk, given at TEDMED.

Read the Q&A: http://wp.me/p10512-kC9. And the link to the talk if you want it!
  • Very interesting. Thanks for sharing.
  • There is a book, Good Calorie, Bad Calorie by Gary Taubes, which discusses a lot about this. It is a really interesting book, and one of the reasons the science behind Ideal Protein seemed solid to me. Taubes completely dispels the notion that eating less and excercising more works for weight loss. I did that for so many years with no success before I found Ideal Protein.

The role of the pancreas and insulin in weight loss has not really been embraced by the wider health community, even though the science is there. Also, it goes against the conventional wisdom. You should see people's faces when I discuss the diet, and insulin ect. They think I am wacko.
  • It's the link between eating less/exercising more to control obesity/type 2 diabetes that they're wrong about.

And more and more docs are figuring it out.

In addition to Taubes books, Volek & Phinney have written a couple good ones.

I though t it was interesting The dr on the OP discussed gut flora

As I added carbs in P3, my heartburn came back. At first I thought it was perhaps a single food and then I did some more reading. You have to get outside mainstream thought to find other ways of looking at problems/solutions

    Here's what I found

I read every article he linked
I had read some of it before but I looked on it with new eyes this time and I'm trying some different approaches to healing.
