  • Good morning ladies Thanks for all the birthday wishes and e-mail cards.I really enjoyed them all.We didn't do anything special.My husband did get me a chocolate cake and ice cream.Had some last night but cake is now in the garbage.If it is here I will get in it and I don't want that.Better to throw it away.
    Our elections were last night.It went better than I thought.I managed to get someone for every position. And they are mostly all new people.The treasurer and I are only ones from old board. I was in charge of elections as leader was not there and as co leader it was mine to do.I let them know that if they were not willing to help they would have no club.I will have to work on keeping my mouth shut and let new people do their thing.I will be the weight recorder so I will be there to help whenever they need help.I managed to get someone to be in charge of all contests and someone else to make up all the welcome packets which is a first.The leader used to have to do it all.Tried to share the load around.
    I did not have a loss but I did turtle and I am happy with that.I am still walking in the evening but have had to do it on treadmill as husband worked late on side job and don't like going to beach by myself to walk.Also do RS and the ab-doer.Once I start work next week will have to figure out best way to get exercise done.Can not get up early as I will have to get up at 4:30 as it is and that is early enough.
    Sherri-Don't let weight gain get you done.It happens.You will get back on track.

  • Good morning and belated birthday wishes eleni!!!

    I guess I am going to our ARD after all this year. I didn't think I would be able to since my first horse show is supposed to be the same weekend but b/c of the lousy weather and the tons of snow we have there is really no way I can have him ready for that show so I said I would go to ARD. Besides as the new leader I figure I should probably be there. Apparently we are putting on a skit and a song and entering into the nametag contest etc. We'll be busy by the sounds of things. Luckily it is local so I don't have to travel.

    I am so glad it is the weekend very soon. This week has seemed to drag on and I am looking forward to my exercise time for me this weekend. We have another snowstorm moving in tonight so the best place to be is at home.

    Before I forget.

    Topgal,

    If you are out there today. I read your postings on the tuesday boards about you thinking about quitting TOPS. I might have a solution to your problem and you can continue to go to the meetings and not be stressed out. My leader told me that she doesn't like to keep getting up for role call. She is a KOPS and she said that she only has to weigh in like 5 times a year or something. Check with your leader to be sure of the exact amount. But anyway I said to her if you don't like to get up and it isn't helping you and stressing you out then why weigh in and do roll call. She said you are right. And you can do the same thing. As long as you are a KOPS you don't have to weigh in or even attend every meeting to stay with the chapter. You should look into the rules and find out how many meetings you are required to come to and how many weigh ins you have to do each year while you are a kop. That would take the pressure off you for the weigh ins but it will still give you the support you need to maintain and keep your KOPS status.
    I hope this has helped you. I wouldn't want to see you quit if that is what you finally decide to do over being weighed in when you don't have to put yourself through that. I know what I have to do also but being around others and part of a group really helps me to keep me going and the boards here are another wonderful place for me. The support is out of this world. Everyone is so caring and helpful and supportive. We are all in this together and we will be here for the long haul. Remember this is a lifestyle change and we have to keep doing this for the rest of our lives unless we want to gain back what we lost. That is why the support is so important.

    I am sure that you will figure out a routine for your exercise once you start work. If you make it part of your routine at some point during the day or night then you will keep doing it. That is great that you are doing so much exercise. It will pay off in the end. Keep up the great work and I am glad you threw away the cake. I have to do the same thing here. Otherwise I would eat it also. I love cake.LOL

    Congratulations again on becoming leader. That is great that you can go to the ARD. I am hopefully going to go to the SRD that we have in june. But it is in niagara falls and it is 5 hours away. But I am trying to get one other girl to go with me from our group. I would really like to go but I don't want to go alone. The chapter will pay for our hotel room which is good. I will have to wait and see what she says. She is going to talk with her husband about it and let me know.

    I am not down about my gain last night. I expected it. I have a date with Dr. Phil today. I am going to listen to the life strategies on cassette tape today and watch the video I recorded when he was on opraha a few weeks ago. I only have one of the days but it is better than none. If anyone taped the opraha show on the tuesdays that Dr. Phil was talking about losing weight (there were 3 or 4 shows in a row on tuesdays) I would like to get a copy of them.

    I am preparing myself for tomorrow. Tomorrow is the big day. I am going back on plan and I will have a loss this week. Hopefully I will lose what I gained last night. But it is going to be that time of month for me starting on tuesday. So hopefully I can still have a good loss. But I am going to stick to plan like glue and I am sure to lose something. Right?

    Well I have to get out of here and get in the shower and go to work.

  • Penny --Don't feel bad I did the same thing the other day.And I don't even know what I did to lose it. I have to make notes to myself and i type slow so I was aggravated to no end when it all disappeared
  • HOw many people ever do this? I lost 3.5 pounds on Tuesday and ever since I have been eating like crazy. I had pizza last night and am sure I gained what I lost last week. It seems like I get to confident with a great loss and start eating out of control. I am telling myself today I have to get a handle on this or else.

    I have the same problem. When I have a good loss, I start a mental game with myself. I start feeling like it's EASY to lose, so why try so hard. But then I have to tell myself that it's not actually easy, that maybe it was just the timing of when I actually stepped on the scale. (If that made sense.) Then I also tell myself that if I keep up the losing, I'll reach goal just that much faster. I guess I'm saying that for me it's all mental, mental, mental.

  • Hi all - a nice sunny day here. I went grocery shopping this morning - first to safeway and then to Costco. I am buying a few extras these days since my hubby will probably be out on strike starting apr.1 and they are thinking it will be a long one - maybe until Sept. Anyhow my cupboards and freezer are full. It's my animals I worry more about feeding than us. We can always bum meals with friends and family.<g>

    Eleni if you go into your profile and somewhere in that section if something called avatars. That is where you pick the picture to put under your name. there are other fields there too that you can fill out. This new board is kinda fun.

    I have talked a friend of mine into coming to TOPS with me too so that will be good. The two of us can work on it together especially the walking.

    Next week is spring break here and I hope to have my grandson over for a few days. That will be fun. Tonight I have some friends coming over so I am putting out some tacos and salsa for a low point snack. I want to stuff some mushrooms too so I am looking for something low to stuff them with.

    Twinkle I have a sister that lives in Monmouth, Oregon and a friend in Dallas, Oregon. Are you farther south than that....My parents used to live in Portland. I opten go down to Oregon to visit my sister and I love to stay out at the coast.
