Question about reboot.

  • first a quick history. I lost 92 pounds on IP (yay) and went on maintainence is sept. since then I have gained 15 back and I really feel it.
I gained because bad habits crept back in. No other reason.
I went back to the clinic sat and fully expected I would return to phase 1 as it had been 6 months on maintainence. But to my surprise my coach said I can try a "strict phase 3" and probably lose the weight.
Wondering what your thoughts are on this?? Has anyone done this "reboot" and been successful. Today is the day I start!
  • Calorie-wise, Phase 3 is pretty similar to a weight watchers calorie count, so you can still lose in p3 but much more slowly than P1 or even P2. Did you ask your coach why they wanted to take that approach? There's nothing wrong with it, but it'd be interesting to know the reasoning.
  • I am the queen of reboots. I have been in maintenance for 26 months. I have to reboot every 3-4 months for about a month. I do phase 1. I have tried phase 3...it is much slower and I give up. Phase 1 gets the job done quick.

I am currently on a reboot. I have declared...April, September, and January my reboot months.

January because it is after the holidays, April because it is after my February cruise (take every year) and my April school break filled with dinners out and then September because of summer relaxing. So far 26 months of it working. I lost 75 pounds and I am up about 11 right now.

Good luck...it is a battle, but if you give in to the "foreverness" of it all it makes it easier.
  • She said she felt returning to phase 1 would be too drastic, which I have to say I agree with. I really was not looking forward to phase one again!
She said if strict phase 3 doesn't work then she will have me do 2 weeks phase 1 and 2 weeks phase 2 and so on.
