I have had several threads on people noticing, or not noticing, my weight loss. But I have had a number of comments from people not directly related to this which have thrown me.

The killer is: "Why have you changed your wardrobe?"

The obvious answer is, "Er I lost 42 pounds and the old clothes don't fit any more. My old pants and underwear just fall down and the shirts look like balloons. And the 46 inch belt is just a joke.". But I feel embarrased to spit the words out. Worse is that I agree that my wardrobe has changed and so I leave the conversation looking like someone going through a mid-life crisis.

Weird eh?

Tell them that the young girlfriend and new sports car will be arriving shortly.
Congrats on the 42 pound loss.

Tell them nakedness is frowned upon in the workplace and in public so your falling-off-clothes had to go.

As elvoslover said Ian enjoy your new gear. I can't wait until i can walk into a store and be able to choose what i want to wear instead of being forced to buy clothes that just about fit me wether i like them or not.

I bought a new coat and am getting a hair-cut for the occasion.

I think weight loss is tied to self esteem for some of us so it is important to reward yourself and let yourself feel more attractive, so investing in your wardrobe is a great idea.

Also... alien overlords.

Argh. Had the same question raised again today. And the "are you having an affair?" question raised yesterday (to which I cooly answered, yes with your wife).

But it's all a bit much and a bit too sensitive. I have, however, admitted to losing weight now when they ask...for the alien overlords.
