How many of you were previous IPer's and how are you finding your weight loss now?

  • Hello all previous IP following people.. Like you.. I have converted from IP to WW because..after 2 years of losing and gaining and losing and gaining, I decided I had enough and IP really wasn't the way to go for me. It works for others..just not for me.

What I am curious about..as it is my third day.. is .. How were your losses on WW week to week? Did you find it hard to lose weight..going from a moderate protein low fat low calorie lowish carb diet to a very balanced approach?? Did you find with all the carbs added back in, were you losing or gaining from it? Did IP mess up your metabolism cause of the low calorie count or do you find yourself losing a pound to 2 pounds a week? How have you liked it? What kind of LONG TERM results or progress have you had?

For me.. I like this diet..it has fruit..and it does feel like a lifetime thing..I can eat anything..just within reason..and I dont feel deprived.. Im just hoping that in following the system it can be my answer to my obesity issue.. I know that its not going to come off fast like it did on IP but as long as it comes off..thats what counts..No more restriction!! well..except gluten..lol..
  • I wasn't on IP but on Atkins and am finding success on WW. I love that I can still eat a wide variety of foods as long as I keep an eye on the portion size. I had vivid dreams about bread and carbs on Atkins and those cravings never really went away. So I am much happier on WW.

I just hit my -20 lbs today after 12 weeks. Slow and steady is how my weight loss has been and I think that is healthier. And I have to admit that I haven't been exercising as much as I should have and have had weeks where I went over on my points. But I still have losses month over month.
  • I, too, have done Atkins. I have PCOS with symptoms of insulin resistance and I felt like my body can't handle carbs the way a normal body can - so I thought that Atkins would work well for me. I did it for about three months, and lost about 30-40lbs. But it wasn't something I could do forever. It was too strict, made it too hard to eat on the go - which I do CONSTANTLY. I am super busy. I need to be able to toss something in the microwave or go through a drive thru.

I love Weight Watchers. LOVE it. Because I'm still concerned about my insulin resistance, I take a cinnamon supplement before each meal. I snack on 0 point fruit or 3 point bags of Healthy Pop, and I find I not only lose weight just as quickly as Atkins but I feel sure this can be my lifetime way of eating. If I'm on the go, I know what I can eat at which fast food restaurants and I have a freezer full of Smart Ones. It really works for me.
