  • Welcome to the newest segment of 10 days in the life boat.

Remember this is not a "challenge" but a place for accountability to ourselves and support.

So what is your plan for this 10 day segment? Grab an oar and join us doing our best to stay dry.
  • I'm going to continue working hard on my goal of sticking to my WW program, remaining OP and trying to get in some exercise.
  • I'm settling in for this segment. I will continue to stay POP and work in some exercise. I will post daily.
  • This has been great to read that I will join. This next ten days I will get back on track, play with horses daily, keep calories under 2,000 and just walk 2 times this 10 days.
  • What can I say?
  • *hands j-ann an ore* let's get back in that life boat! you can share mine if you like

I've been on a weight-loss hiatus after getting a new job and my husband having surgery last week. We are just now getting the house cleaned and going grocery shopping. However, the last 3 weeks we've been eating out and over-eating and I can tell after stepping on the scale this morning.

On a positive note - we just bought an elliptical and it was a workout in itself putting it together last night!

So, for these 10-days, I'm going to 1. use my elliptical and 2. stick to my dinner calories (I'm fine during the day, it's only when i get home at night that I go crazy on the snacks). I'll be back to check in later!

    Thanks for starting this thread.
  • Judy - I have warm towels for you!

Yesterday was POP with every bite recorded. Plan is made for today.
  • Staying dry
  • Judy - you hiding under the seat - need your help to row this boat my friend.

    POP weekend!
  • Spent yesterday drying out. Thanks for the towels and encouragement. I haven't made a splash that big in a long time. I've velcro'd my butt to my seat and will be rowing strongly today. Damn that water was cold.
  • Sorry I haven't been checking in. I've been staying dry, although exercise got a little derailed last week due to injury. I took a few (intentional) days off.

My goal for this segment is to keep staying within my WW points AND try to start moving toward the Mediterranean diet as described in this latest long-term study. And, I want to get back on a more regular exercise plan.

Judy, warmed up? The sun always shines on our little boat, so you should be able to stay warm if you stay dry
  • Yesterday was POP with 6 kinds of veggies and an hour in the pool.
  • I did great last segment but yesterday I stuck my leg in the water..I quickly pulled it back in the boat but still had a wet leg. I skipped dinner last night to make up some of the extra calories used at lunch.
Today will find me rowing rowing rowing!!
  • Did a lot better yesterday. Splashed but not soaked.
  • OK. I just hauled myself into the lifeboat after feeling like I just spent a few days bottom feeding! Have been doing IF which worked great in January, and then I decided to "tweak" it in February by cutting carbs down to 75-80g/day. That meant cutting out a lot of foods and I was feeling lousy. Long story short (which is always a challenge for me), turns out I had decreased carbs too much, you evidently can't do that for extended periods of time without physical impact, so partook of carbs yesterday, feel LOTS better today and will adjust diet plan going forward. May mean slower weight loss, but I can live with that instead of feeling like just standing up took all the energy I had for the day. So, who's in charge of issuing oars?
