TG It's Friday! February 15

  • Good morning. Woke to the sound of a plow going down the road and have been puttering around doing odd little jobs leftover from yesterday. Somehow I just cannot do anything after supper except sit and do hand sewing and watch mindless TV. We had just a skiff of snow so I've no idea why the plows are out. Maybe it was icy overnight?

Donna was here to clean yesterday so the house is all spiffed up. Today, after gym, I will chain myself to the desk and get those darned government forms filled to mail out. They are T4s, record of salary and deductions, and need to be in the employees' hands by the 28th. I'll put the nose to the grindstone and just crank them out. That'll be a good way to end the week and celebrate being halfway through this long, long, "short" month.

Tonight should be a fun night with no TV. Our fun Church family will be getting together for dinner at Claire's house. Since our wee Church closed, we have missed getting together over coffee - it's not the same in the other two Parish churches although everyone is very friendly. (I guess I'm a cynic because I see dollar signs in their eyes.) Really looking forward o tonight.

Happy Friday to us all and I wish us a great weekend. (Dog sled races are on for tomorrow in the next town!)
  • Good morning Ruth! Watching the dog races would be quite cool!!

Yesterday was insanely boring at work, although we did get in some might good chats . I think today is better, although the boss is in AZ so I'm on call all day. I do get to meet a friend for breakfast though, I had to cancel a few weeks ago when DD was sick. I am looking forward to that!

My coffee just finished, I must start my infusion...
  • Good morning! My brother recommended I try his favorite K-cup, Folger's Black Silk, and it's really good.

I have laundry going now and plan to run through the house with a dustcloth and vacuum cleaner, and then will go over to my parent's and give their house a good cleaning. It seems Dad forgot how to use a dustcloth. Other than that, I'll take the rest of the day as it comes, although I promised Jake I'd make him a nice supper when I get back from the nursing home this evening. My DD has been begging me to go spend the weekend with her, so I may go tomorrow if Mom is doing OK.
  • Good morning I slept until 6:15, it was heaven. Yesterday the alarm went of at 4:45 and we were in the car by 6. Don't want to do that again anytime soon. My arm is doing a lot better and I plan to behave and encourage that progress. Right now I need to get my car to the garage. Got pulled over Tuesday because my inspection expired - in December I'll be back later
  • Good morning.

Cyndi - Glad to hear your arm is better.

So the story of my neighbor with cancer has gone viral. Her boyfriend shaved his head in support and posted a photo online of them both and - whoosh. Millions of hits later, picked up by all sorts of news sites, and now TV shows are calling. Funny how the internet works.

I'm off to the gym with my mom and trainer this morning. Then we wait for the cable guy to come today; one of our TVs is not getting a clear signal. A mini-crisis for us considering how many shows we record!

    Have a great Friday.
  • Morning everybody!

Ruth- Sounds like a cool night planned. Have fun! Dog sled races sound like they'd be fun, but I've only ever seen them in movies and on tv. Jealous!

Cyndi- I'm glad your arm is doing better. Be gentle with it today!

Karen- Wow! The power of the internets! Hope your tv gets fixed before you miss any recordings. (I was going to put an ! instead, but I realized that would be 3, and that's a little too peppy. )

The natural/special foods store near me is opening a soup/salad/sandwich bar today! I'm excited- I love soup, but I hate making it. Depending on what they have, that might be my lunch. The store in general has a large supply of vegetarian/vegan products, so I imagine there will be at least one or two suitable items on this new bar.

    Have a great almost-weekend, ladies!

    -Caitlin
  • Good morning. Overtime detail went smoothly last night. These late nights have been messing with my sleep pattern. I have not worked out the entire week, but don't feel too guilty. Work, TOM and the annoying cold have combined forces to kick my butt. I may ride tonight if I feel up to it. No big plans for today or tomorrow. Hope everyone has a great Friday
  • afternoon!

I am glad to hear your arm is better Cyndi!

I am going to be doing my PT exercises today and then going to run errands. DW leaves for an entire week tomorrow - secretly hoping we get doused with snow tonight and she can't leave, lol. She's been gone a lot with her job lately and with my being home all the time, it's made me lonely!

I got a bite on the job front (and two rejections) so I am going to go answer them and get rolling. Happy Friday all!
  • Good afternoon, ladies!!! Just polished off my second cup of coffee and now I'm about to get in the shower and get ready to go get the tattoo I've been wanting for YEARS. It'll be my largest piece and I'm expecting it to run me a couple hundred, but I messed around last year and spent my tax return elsewhere instead of getting it so this year I decided that wasn't going to happen. (Holy run on sentence, Batman!!!)

I'll come back later for personals (or maybe tomorrow)...but wanted to share a photo. I made a comment on FB the other day about realizing I'm a cheap Valentine b/c I prefer tulips to roses and, after I posted it, my bestfriend caught me walking out of Wal-mart w/ tulips I bought for myself. Well, last night she sent her middle son in to work w/ tulips for me...and today my mom came home w/ 2 arrangements of tulips for me. It's a tulip explosion!!!

  • Wow! That woke me up. Very nice!
