Starting to Lose Motivation! GAH!

  • Hey everyone,

I haven't fallen off the wagon but I am definitely seeing signs that I could! I KNOW it's just fear of failure but I am starting to check 3FC a little less, avoiding the Health and Fitness part of Pinterest and feeling confused about calorie intake this week. I've also got an awesome date tonight and I know I'm going to go off plan and that scares me! And, biggest of all, I leave for my first vacation in 8 days! I keep reading these horror stories about "Once you go off plan, you never come back!" I am intending on being on plan for as much vacation as possible and working out lots! In the North, we don't have a lot of fresh food, nor good fitness activities- pomegranate and the gym will be a real treat!

So, I guess I've got a few big things coming up and I am getting nervous. It's 6 weeks in for me, and I was 13.1 lbs down as of Sunday. I also gave a friend my scale to stop obsessive weighing, but I almost feel out of touch with my weight loss journey, as if it's out of my mind when I can't weigh in.

Phew- okay- there. That's everything. If you could just please remind me why I started and how I WILL SUCCEED, I'd much appreciate it! Do any of you have some weeks where you on the war path with your determination, and other times when you find it difficult to focus on your journey?

    Thanks a million!

I'll bet all of us have had these moments. I know I have. Willpower/motivation comes in peaks and valleys. I realized some time ago that the reason I yo-yoed so many times in the past is that I would let one of those "valleys" discourage me, and I would give up. If I had just ridden it out and kept going, I wouldn't have regained. That's the most important lesson I've learned.

Trust yourself to get back on plan. You can do it!
  • If you feel worried you are not giving up. If you were, you wouldn't care. You have done great so far and it would feel so crappy to undo that. You don't want to do that. You don't want to do those pounds over!

Like Lin said, motivation comes and goes but you can push through! My motivation is down this week. Stopped counting cals at some point on Tuesday and didn't start again til today. I too have been visiting 3FC less the past few days. I am struggling not to throw up my hands again tonight even though I am on plan and so close to bedtime and a successful day. I just know that if I see a gain at my next weigh in, it'll feel so crappy. I don't want that and either do you!

One night off plan for your date will not be the end of the world but if you plan to stay on plan for your vacation, that is great!
  • it is obvios , if we keep active ourself we cant lose motivation , keep reading books of motivation it will remain you motivated !!
another some technik to stay motivated is keep talking to your friend about !!
  • What I've learned on this journey is that it isn't about motivation, it's about commitment.

Commit to being on plan, to exercising, to progress.

    You can do this!
