I feel a little silly reading about people who lose 2 lbs a week. I lost 1 pound and it took me 6 weeks. I have a lot of challenges to overcome - herniated discs, displaced hip, knee pain, depression (on medication that causes weight gain), PCOS, insulin resistance. So being able to finally lose a pound is a big deal for me.
I have been working out 5-6 days a week for 6 weeks, both cardio and strength training. I have also been using the Insulin Resistance diet (eat no more than 30 grams of carbs in a 2-hour period, always pair carbs with 50% of their grams in protein). During those six weeks I was weighing in every couple of days between 160 and 162. I could feel my clothes getting looser but nothing showed up on the scale until this weekend....159! Finally, validation.
