Holy Unbelievably Sweet!

  • So I have a couple "sweet" stories to tell.

I've been battling a head cold for the last few days. I can't breath or hear out of my ears. It's awesome. :: sigh ::
So DH brought me some organic soup home last night! So sweet! And on top of that he says, "I didn't get you chicken noodle, because I know you're not eating wheat right now!"
    Awwww!!

Now for the second sweet story...I haven't been eating much sugar or any processed foods for over a month now. Tonight I'm making the Annie's tomato bisque. I tried a bit and HOLY SWEETNESS! OH MY GOODNESS! I thought surely sugar must be the second ingredient! The soup is SOOO sweet! Nope- second ingredient from the last. Hurumph.... Guess my tastes are changing.

I bet some of you have had experiences likes this before, right?
I'm very interested in getting to know my new self! Looks like I'm going to have to be making a lot of things at home now, the processed packaged stuff just won't do anymore.
  • I don't need butter in my oatmeal anymore. That's huge for me!!
  • I don't like dressing on my salad any more. Just salt and pepper and sometimes a splash of lemon juice. I use to love ranch on everything and then I switched to low calorie ranch and it got to where it tasted weird to me.
  • I actually like plain no-fat yogurt, zucchini and sweet potatoes now - things I never would have eaten previously! I keep asking my husband what has happened to me... I even ate a bunch of barely blanched broccoli willingly (that vile weed!).

Just throwing this out there, but I LOVE cottage cheese as the dressing on my salad. I put about 1/4 to 1/2 cup on there and just the tiniest bit of whatever dressing and use that as the 'taste'.

I don't like dressing weighting down my salad and overpowering the taste of it, but I love the moisture/fresh taste. The cottage cheese does that perfectly for me.
  • Hey Lunar. Your husband sounds super sweet. Its nice when the boys surprise us like that, no?

I know exactly what you guys mean about changing tastes. I'm having the same with salt and sugar in my food. And I'm eating things like beets that I hated as a kid. Yesterday, I even turned down a second glass of champagne (WHAT?!) which is NOT normal for me.

    .
So sweet. I have a cold right now and you want to know what my boyfriend did? Absolutely nothing. He's never asked me once how I'm feeling, or even come by my house to bring me any food or see how I am, and even last night when I was feeling really anxious/nervous/sick due to my cold and my fear of mice in my house, I begged him to come over and he didn't.

    You have it good lol!
