Ideas to do with the potato puree?

I make potato pancakes. Add a little water. Mix. Spray frying pan. Makes 4 pancakes. Yummm

There is a recipe for potato rolls. They are good.
Otherwise I make it soup and add lots of Tabasco

Some folks in Canada are trying to Pur(ee)-O-Late it to someone else! LOL
I think it's one of those things you love or hate. I was thinking of making a "mini shepherd's pie -- maybe with some caulimash potatoes to make "more". I also was wondering about adding it to a soup base e.g. potato leek soup.

Haven't tried any of these yet. I bought it to make the flatbread people talked about but I haven't even done that.

I make muffins with zucchini or a pancake if I don't have time to bake.
the nice thing about the muffins is that I can make several batches at once and they keep in the refrigerator.

I made a "wrap"--mix it with 5 Tbsp and water and spread in a skillet coated with non-stick spray. Cook it like you would a pancake. Once done, I wrapped it around some red and yellow peppers that I had sauteed in Mexican seasoning (Arizona Dreaming from Penzey's) along with 2 oz of chicken. Yum!

Use it as breading and make chicken nuggets or fried fish. I have used it dry with an egg wash, and I have added enough water/tabasco to make it like a cake batter, then dipped shrimp or chicken bites into it to make buffalo bites.

Crock Pot Pork Loin
Recipe Yield: 8

Ingredients:
•1 2½- to 3-pound pork loin
•½ teaspoon garlic powder
•¼ teaspoon ground ginger
•1/8 teaspoon dried thyme
•¼ teaspoon black pepper
•1 tablespoon cooking oil
•2 cups chicken broth
•2 tablespoons lemon juice
•3 teaspoons soy sauce
•Salt and pepper
•1 Ideal Protein Potato Puree Mix Packet

Instructions:


With just a few ingredients and a protein thrown in a pot for a few hours are all it takes for a delicious main course.

Pork Loin
•Trim the visible fat from the loin. If necessary, cut the roast to fit into a 3½-, 4-, or 5-quart crock pot.
•In a small bowl, combine the garlic powder, ginger, thyme, and pepper. Rub the spice mixture over the entire surface of the loin.
•In a large skillet, heat the oil and brown the loin slowly on all sides. Drain off the fat. Transfer the loin to the crock pot.
•Combine the chicken broth, lemon juice, and soy sauce; pour over the loin.
•Cover and cook on a low-heat setting for 8 to 10 hours or on a high-heat setting for 4 to 5 hours. When the roast is done, transfer the meat to a serving platter and cover to keep it warm.

Gravy – IP safe (Good for all phases of Ideal Protein)

•Pour the juices from the crock pot into a glass measuring cup. Skim off the fat.
•Measure 1 cup of liquid, adding water to the juices, if necessary, to make 1 cup.
•Transfer the juices to a saucepan, reserving 1/3 cup.
•Stir the IP Potato Packet into the reserved 1/3 cup of juice until dissolved, then stir into the juices in the saucepan.
•Heat, stirring frequently, until the gravy is thickened and bubbly, 5 to 7 minutes. Cook and stir 2 minutes more.
•Season the gravy to taste with salt and pepper. Slice the roast and serve it with the gravy.

I've used the potato puree to make a "bun" for a hamburger. Rainbowsmiles (I think) has a bunch of recipes she's posted, including that one.

CLAM CHOWDER
1 c. celery, chopped
1 c. leeks, chopped
... "saute" with cooking spray and some water until tender.
add
1/2 can clams and liquid, Mrs. Dash garlic and herb mix
stir in
IP potato puree mixed with 3 - 4 oz. water
sea salt~green onions

this counts as veggies, one packet and 2 oz of seafood. Very chunky and very filling.

just tried potatoe puree pancakes . . . what a surprise . . . I really liked them. : )
