What to eat after a work out?

  • What are some good foods to eat AFTER a work out? I don't want to ruin all the hard work I do during those work outs, but is it ok to have a snack or something light after a work out....and what is OK to eat?
  • Protein. It provides the amino acids your muscles need for recovery and growth.
  • Yes, it is okay. Apple with nut butter, greek yogurt or cottage cheese is good with some veggies. Back when I was working out, I usually made a spinach/cucumber/grape tomato salad with some cottage cheese/hot sauce mix as "dressing" for post-workout snack. Oh yea, sometimes I mix a little bit of greek yogurt in my peanut butter to eat with apples for more of a protein boost.
