If you carry Costco groceries in bags...

  • ...which ones do you use? I am unable to continue using boxes and need something like a big, sturdy shopping bag with handles. Do you use one? If so, which one? I know Costco previously sold these types of bags, but from what I've read, they are no longer available. Do you use Ikea bags? Are they good for this type of thing?

    Thanks in advance.

(I hope this is the correct section for such a question.)
  • I just cart stuff to my car and throw it in the trunk

The Ikea bags look to be similar to the old Costco bags.
  • Ikea bags are just the best for everything. Couldn't live without them.

Adult DS keeps borrowing them - driving me nuts. Then he offs himself to Ikea for something and brings me a new stack of ten. Perhaps he sees me as his storage warehouse, LOL.
  • LOL @ storage house, that is what parents are for!

I never use bags at places like Costco or BJs, don't know why. Just never got in the habit I guess.

At regular supermarkets, I use just paperbags now so I can use them for all the recycling we do. Plastic bags drive me nuts, especially baggers that put 1 or 2 things in every bag (seriously?!). So now if a store doesn't have self-checkout where I can scan and bag my own groceries, I tend to not frequent it. I like having control of my groceries and bag them according to category!

Edit to add----people that use their bags over and over putting meat products in them without any protection make me nervous. I guess the bacteria might die if the car is cold enough but I wouldn't take a chance with it!
