Dairy free snack ideas??

  • I haven’t lost anything in 2 weeks so I am trying to make some changes and figure out what might be holding me back. This past week, I cut down significantly on my weekly flex points, using less than half as compared to all of them over the past few weeks. Still, no change on the scale this morning.

Now I am thinking I will try to cut back on dairy. I have noticed I am consuming quite a bit because it has been easy to get protein with little fat from skim milk, fat free yogurt, cottage cheese, etc.

This is where you all come in…can you make some suggestions for good dairy free snack ideas? Nothing to carbohydrate heavy as I have significantly cut back on that as well…. Thanks in advance for your help!
  • Hey Linds. I don't think you should worry for two weeks, a month, yeah. Sometimes it has to do with menstrual cycle and water retention. Sometimes you just need to increase your activity a bit. One thing I did for a sweet was reduced cal peanut butter mixed with sugar free jelly. I would make a small container an keep it in the fridge. When I wanted a sweet, I would have a couple of spoonfuls. High protein and all that. Good luck!

Thanks Lacyt74, i'm not sure whether to think it has anything to do with my menstruel cycle..I have PCOS and have not had regular visits from AF for the past two years, so I never know when it is going to happen

I'm telling myself not to get discouraged and even if I am not losing, I am getting healthier. It is a big disappointment though!
  • What about some raw veggies?! Do you like those??
  • I have been trying to get myself to eat some more raw veggies.. I am not a huge fan, but I know it's good for my health. I have recently adopted celery and peanut butter as a snack, and I don't mind cucumbers and carrots, but I get bored easily..that is my problem haha
  • Roasted Beets or Turnips. Awesome alternative to fries. And they are YUM. I'm going to try to roast some turnip slices tomorrow.
  • Oh- And cucumber slices with laughing cow cheese spread on them. Seriously...I could eat those EVERY day. AWESOME snack.

That sounds yummy! Good alternative to crackers!
  • Lindsay, are you tracking every bite? And are you exercising? Are you getting at least 5 servings of fruits and veggies per day?
  • GL Hunnah Bunnah!
  • I think low fat dairy is fine for snacks, the protein helps you stay full longer, add some raw veggies, don't worry that scale will move
