Hello so guys do you keep trigger foods in the house? I usually don't but I thought I should face this.
I've been taking control of my mindless and binge eating since the 22nd of July 2011. I've been off the wagon since September but semi controlling my food issues, I did not gain any weight so I guess I was doing alright maintaining.
For the last week I have been back to not making those bad choices and soothing with food. I went shopping today and knew I was almost at my calorie limit when I got home, I bought a big 2000 calorie box of granola and some yoghurt, I used to eat this all in a day or two just gorging on it! So I was almost not going to buy the granola but I wanted to try eat it over a long time using the 30 gram/1 scoop portion guide.
I felt dizzy and anxious, I was hungry though but I made myself one oven camembert bake, grilled pepper and chicken to stay within my nutrition limits and only a hundred or two hundred calories over my guide limit but still eating responsibly and not skipping meals/eating after 7.
In short: I feel a bit off with this food in my house but I am trying to look at those feelings its bringing up and take the fear and impulsive feelings away from that food like I did with a lot of junk food (still haven't tackled the old pint of ice cream though!). I am just hoping that I will not binge on it, I feel better now (half an hour later). I know I use certain foods to zone out and now that I faced that craving and didn't blow it I feel a little more "real" if that makes sense to anyone?
Whats your trigger food and do you avoid and ignore it at all costs or have it in normal portions... or does that just cause too much trouble for you?
