Ready to make changes & make some friends along the way

  • Hi! I'm Megan. I'm 24 (almost 25) year old college student. Just wrapping up my last year at community college before I move to New York to be with my fiancee. I've always been a chubby or overweight girl. It never bothered me growing up, no one bothered me about it, and I wasn't the only one. The past few years have been rough on me with school, family and friends, and my weight has been severely impacted. I lost a lot, but I gained a lot back. I currently float around 320lbs. My fiancee is diabetic, type 1 and has recently had some major health stuff come up. He took it upon himself to get on the right track for his health, and he's inspired me to get my stuff back on the right track.
My ultimate wishlist goal is to be at the healthy BMI for my height, so around 150-175lbs (those charts aren't too standard). But my short term goal is that for my graduation in May, I'd like to fit into this pretty skirt my aunt gave me. Its about 3 sizes too small right now. I don't know if its attainable but I'm ready to make some long term changes in my life
  • Hi Megan! Welcome to 3FC.

    Hi everyone,
I have joined this forum in the hope I can loose a little weight, as my clothes
    Don't fit, it's very uncomfortable.
I plan to do the mediteranium diet. Have bought 3 books so reading them at present.
Looking forward to meeting new friends.Glad

  • Diabetes runs in my husband's family and my hubby is obese- still very healthy (Thank God) but I told him (and his Mom keeps reminding him) he really needs to start losing weight and watch what he eats. I honestly don't think he'll get it until something happens- right now his motivation (which is fading) to lose weight is so he can upgrade a part on his computer. Hey whatever works, right? I have to say that since he's been motivated to lose weight, that's been helping me a lot. I hope it's the same for your situation too!!
  • Welcome and good luck on your journey!!!
