I'll be your buddy!

I'm 28, and I really want to get back on track. I lost about 30 lbs last year counting calories, and then I got a job and stress plus a nasty stomach bug took off 10 more. So I was 40 lbs down, and I just lost my focus. Now I've gained all of the weigh back except for 10 lbs. That stinks! So I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things to get back on the right track.
What kind of plan are you following? I am going to try to stick to around 1800 calories a day, and walk when I can. I track my calories using an Excel spreadsheet. I tried using an app on my phone, but I'm paranoid about someone picking up my phone and finding it. (I know it's crazy!
