Gotta force myself to stay on plan...

  • At the end of January, I'm heading down to florida for a vacation to visit some realitives, that I haven't seen for awhile...The last time I saw most of them was 5 years ago, when I was around my heaviest.

I want to look the best that I can, be fit, and get back down to my 180 weight hopefully by then(because thats where I feel the best about my body)...I'm back to 186 and 3 pounds a month seems do-able but the holidays are making it tough for me to avoid sweets.

Last year I just tried to maintain until Jan 1, and did sucessfully but this is the first time I'm trying to loose weight around this time. How do you guys force yourself to stay on plan, and avoid temptation???
  • I'm also struggling at the moment and I've just decided to not stress about it too much for the next few weeks and just try to maintain. This time of the year is crazy. I'm up 2lbs from my ticker weight and really finding it hard to resist all of the treats during these long, dark evenings.

I know you want to get back to 180, but can you imagine how amazed your family are going to be when they see you? You look absolutely amazing and have lost an incredible amount of weight.

Sorry I know this wasn't any help to your question, if anybody comes along with a great answer I might jump back on the wagon.
  • This is my first Christmas of trying to avoid all out gluttony. Here's my plan:
    1. Eat high protein, filling foods
    2. Avoids sweets (no baking for me!)
    3. Give away all sweets that are gifted to me

Just remember what your goal is and stay focused. You can do this!
  • I'm in the same boat. I'm the MOH in my best friend's wedding in less than 6 weeks, so I'm trying to stay super focused and OP in the hopes of reaching 130 or less. What am I doing?

    -Tracking every bite on MFP.
-I set up a gym schedule for myself (5 days a week) so that it's routine and expected.
-I'm avoiding eating out because it's hard for me to resist deliciously bad restaurant food, so I'm cooking at home which saves money anyway.
