MyFitnessPal calorie counts?

  • I'm curious about the 'calories burned' calculators in this app. I love it, i've had more success when tracking everything, and now I can track from my phone or at home on the computer. But I wonder, how accurate are those calorie counters for activity? Anybody have any thoughts on this?
  • I think they are somewhat accurate, or they are in the right ballpark.. but

First of all, they show no calories burned if you lift weights, when lifting weights definitely burns calories!

Ive heard that the app LoseIt is slightly more accurate (at least it says that you burn calories from lifting weights etc.)

Still, I don't let this worry me too much. I just like to log so I can keep track of the exercises I do and track my weight loss progress! I don't get too caught up in the numbers ^_^

They definitely seem a bit on the high side to me. I don't eat the calories I've burned, so it doesn't affect me all that much, but if you do, you might want to estimate a little lower. Otherwise, I've used both LoseIt and MyFitnessPal and prefer MFP overall.

If anyone else uses MFP, feel free to add me - warrior_princess1, I love having an active friends list.
