Bett vs Rutabaga?

  • So I looked up the nutrition info of these two and I'm curious why rutabaga is allowed but not beets?

    Thoughts?

  • Not everything on IP is about carbs and calories. Nutritionally, they are very similar - that is true. But rutabaga is a more alkali-producing vegetable than beets, and part of the chemistry of IP involves putting your body in an alkali state.

It's the same chemistry that makes spinach a measured veggie and not an unlimited lettuce (spinach is an acidic veggie and can swing your body in the acid direction if you have too much).
  • Ah! Thanks! And I just saw I mis-spelled beets... lol
  • lol glad I could help!
