Goal By Summer (June 1st) Challenge

  • Hi everyone,

    If anyone wants to join me, I am shooting for my goal weight by summer (mid-term goals are welcome too!).

    This is starting November 15th, 2012, but goal progress check-in points will be the first and fifteenth of each month thru June 21st (official first day of summer), so 13 mini-goal check-ins between now and June (the 14th and final being June 21st).

    Last summer, I was miserable. Nothing fit and I just wanted to hide. I want next summer to be different. Let's motivate each other to get there!

  • Hi! I'll join you! I also lose weight really slowly - about only 7 lbs since Jan 1, 2012, and most of it was lost before June. My plan is to do maintenance until the holidays are over, and try to lose the last 5-10 lbs by June. I can't wait to see everyone's progress - I know having this accountability will definitely help me!

  • This is an awesome coincidence! One of my two main weight loss goals is to be under 160 by my 30th birthday which is June 1st! I'm so in! It's not my final goal but I'm crashing in anyhow if you don't mind

    I have to keep reminding myself the beginning is always the hardest for me. After I get some momentum under my belt it will be easier. I hope anyways! I really wanted to just go out last night and buy junk food, but I didn't.

    Julia, looking at your stats on your sig. I can totally relate to the being at/near goal and then regaining so much. I made it all the way down to the 120's and yet here I am again... in the same old place.. and feeling like crap. At least we haven't given up though, that's the good thing!!!

  • I'd love to take this challenge on. I have been slacking a lot the last 3 months because I've been in school and have only been averaging 5 or 6 pounds a month. I'd really like to kick it up a notch and get to 8 pounds a month!

    Hey I'm Meredith. I just got over a bout of a chronic illness that has been stalling weight loss for a few weeks, but i'm back on plan tomorrow. Exercise, strict adherence to calories, lots of water and balanced nutrients along with vitamins. I won't be close to goal yet, but it's a good start.

  • I'm not going to put goal weights for each month. As long as the scale keeps going down I'm good. I've also added May in as it looks like some may have missed this month. My normal weight for a long time previously was 120-122 and probably had a lot of muscle so might just stop there if I can get back into that same shape.

    Realized I forgot to put May in to my count. LOL That gives me an extra month... yay! I need it!

    So glad more people are joining and I like the idea of two monthly check in's to see how we're all coming along.

    Hope we all have a strong day. I live in MN where it is cold and overcast this time of year. I think I need to put a picture of a summer scene on my desk or something to remind me of where I want to be when the weather gets nice again.
