One thing to keep in mind is that whatever you do to get down to your goal you will have to *continue* to do. Maintenance is not returning to old ways - it's continuing pretty much with the way you lost the weight, with a few minor tweaks.
That's one reason to not rush the process as well. When you first start it's easy to say no to a lot of stuff and eat shakes and tiny salads, but as time goes on it gets a lot harder to stick to such a limited plan. You'll have to learn to deal with meals out at restaurants, family functions, holidays, and just your own boredom!
Not trying to discourage your efforts, I just want to get you to be in a more realistic frame of mind.
I'm in my third year of my plan and I'm at 90 lbs down, 35 to go to get to goal. I'm taking the *slow* road! I've plateaued at various times, but never gone up.
