Tip for floor mats

  • Hi, if you're like me and you have sensitive knees and joints you might also find it hard to do floor exercises like yoga, pilates, or even girl pushups. We have hard wood floors and a very thin rug so I double up on floor mats but it still doesn't provide enough cushioning for my joints.

Well today when I was playing with my toddler on the floor I realized that his interlocking play mat was perfect for floor exercises! It's cushiony but now plushy and I feel absolutely no strain on my joints after using it. Thought I'd share.

It looks something like this: http://www.onestepahead.com/catalog/...productId=6683
  • My knees were killing me in Bodyflow class on Sunday, I was thinking that I would need to get knee pads or use the thick mats instead of my thin yoga mat. lol It was a new version of Bodyflow so I'm wondering if there's more knee bearing exercises in the previous version or two.
  • I have been using them for years, they sell packs of them at the sporting good stores nowadays. If you jump around a bunch on them AND have a spot to store it...you can duck tape them together. Mine was 2 wide by 3 long and I put it behind the couch against the wall when not using.Had a small house. Now I have a whole room!
