  • Hi All,

I started IP on 10/2/2012. During the first three weeks, I lost 3 lbs per week. This last week, I lost 1/2 lb.

During this last week, I wasn't able to eat all my veggies for two days due to a crazy work schedule. In addition, I did not have a BM at all this week which is unusual for me.

Which of these do you think contributed more to losing less weight? The veggies or my BM (lack of)?

Btw, my doc gave me Novi-lax which I will try now.

    Thanks!
  • There are several threads on "slow weight loss". Losing a half lb in a week really isn't slow. I suggest you read some of the other threads
  • Somewhere between week 2-5...you have a slow week...for your body to "catch-up" with the fast loss....everyone panics...no biggie....it will pick back up.

I take novi-lax (my clinic sells it) everyday to keep things flowing.
  • I cannot stress ths enough: watch that Novi Lax and do not stray far from the bathroom!! I took two at bedtime one night and the next day from 4:00 - 11:00 pm was explosive if you get my drift!!! NEVER again - I will let nature take its course the next time!!! Maybe just take one to start - and it might take a while to work - give it a good 24 hours just in case!!
  • I would think a week of no BM would make you bloated.
  • Both will cause weight gain. I have had the same sort of issue and the scale went up 2 lbs this morning. I'm trying not to obsess over it but obviously I am!!!
yeah yeah I know, throw the darn scale away! But we have to admit the scale detemines our BMI and we were all told to set goals according to the almighty scale
  • Not daily! Stay off the scale except for your once/week weigh in. You'll drive yourself and everyone else nuts

Thanks all! I did eat my 4 cups yesterday and took one Novi-lax before bedtime last night.

Well, it worked. Almost too well and you're right, I have to stay close to the toilet.

I have been living the IP lifestyle for over 2 years now....I take novi-lax every morning with my supplements....and it keeps things regular...never more than one...ever. (Maintenance with reboots for 19 months now)
  • My dr. said no to the novi lax. she gave me some other options and I will be trying them today. Also my coach said no to them too. she said $$ and overkill on the results
  • for my 12 weeks on P1 an P2 i rarely had more than 2 per week ( BM) i tried smooth move tea and it did work, and now on p4 i'm so happy to be regular again......

  • Some slow loses can be contributed to bm issues. This is how my body works...On M-F I weight the exact same thing. I see no losses. (I do weigh myself daily as when I don't I am more inclined to go off plan). The scale stays the same. Then I take a colon cleanser with Senna every Friday night (because if I don't I won't have a bm) and by the next Monday morning, the scale has dropped 3-5 lbs. I know my body so the scale does not discourage me at all. I'm 11 weeks in and 36 lbs down.. (also doing alternatives) YAY.
  • It may look gross but taste is fine. Blend chocolate protein shake with ice, frozen spinach, and add some WF chocolate syrup. I don't care for raw vegies and this is a pretty easy way to get them in! And make things move around
  • I would think it would be a combination of both that is the problem. The veggies have the fibre that we need to go. Keep up your veggies and water and nature should take care of the rest.
