Finally found the minced onion - how do I use it in Big Mac/Bowl?

  • After searching high and low I finally found minced (otherwise known as dehydrated I guess) onions in the supermarket.

How do I use them in the Big Mac in a Bowl? There are no directions on the package - not sure if I'm just supposed to sprinkle them into the ground beef before, during or after cooking or something else altogether.

    THANKS AGAIN!!
  • you can do either....sprinkle them in while cooking your ground beef for a softer onion, or sprinkle on after for a more crunchier onion!!!

i mix them into raw ground beef BEFORE making burgers!!! yum!!

i sprinkle them on top of salads for a crunchy oniony bite!! YUM!!

Sounds like no matter what it shouldn't be a total disaster LOL. Thanks for the quick reply.
  • Mmm - I had my first Bic Mac Bowl for dinner last night - It's definitely going to be in my regular rotation! I used regular chopped onion, though; my IP sheet says onions are okay as long as they're not cooked. Hope that's right!

Oh, and I never actually ate Big Mac's, so I can't say how this recipe compares to the real thing, but it sure made me happy. Next time I'm having kale chips on the side, too
  • You can cook it with the meat, it will absorb the juices and rehydrate a bit - you can also soak them in some water to rehydrate. I actually use fresh onion and just dice it really small and put it on the salad
