85#!

  • I... me... this girl... hit the 85# loss mark this week. Talk about exciting!

It's strange though; I don't FEEL like a different person. I'm still ME, just in a smaller body.

I thought I would lose the weight faster than this. I calculated it out and had a plan to be further along by now. It's taken me 17 months and I'm ok with that. 100% ok with it. I've gone from a size 26/28 to a 16, I work out and love it, I feel great and the photos don't lie; I'm a smaller, healthier person!

This is me at 276 (not my highest weight) and then me last weekend before the Komen Race for the Cure (which I ran in 35:42!):

  • Looks like an amazing difference to me! I've lost about 81 pounds now and friends and family tell me how good I look, but I don't see that big of a difference myself. I also thought I would lose faster, but I'm happy I've stuck with it. I do feel better and feel like I look better too, but I guess it's because it's coming off so slow that it doesn't seem that drastic of a change to me. I will say that when I took the kids to a movie last weekend that I seen someone around my age and around the size I was at my highest weight and she sat down in the row in front of us and seeing how uncomfortable she looked reminded me of how uncomfortable I was at that weight. I noticed that I was sitting in the chair fairly comfortably and my stomach doesn't protrude out like it used to (I have much more of a lap than I did back then). I also notice when my eight-year-old hugs me his arms go around me now. I still have a lot of weight to lose to be at a "normal" weight, but I'm getting there slowly but surely. I didn't mean to ramble on about myself. Congratulations on your weight loss. You look great!
  • Great job!!!!
