Lime on IP?

  • So my husband and I are going to dinner to celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary tonight. I want to stay on plan, but I also want to celebrate with him.

I thought it might be fun to have pelligrino with a lime in it? Are we permitted to have limes?

If we are not permitted to have limes, does anyone have other ideas to spice up water for a fun night on the town with my husband???? I'm not a big fan of lemon in water.

I might even have greenbeans! Woot Woot.
  • If possible, you could have carbonated water. I personally think its nasty, but I know a lot of people, especially in Europe, love it. In Germany, its almost impossible to find non-bubbly water!

Or, you could slip some MIO in your purse, and turn your water into juice.
  • If it will help to make your evening special, I would do it and not worry. Don't think one (or even two or three) slice of lime is going to do you in. I use a slice of lemon in my oil & vinegar dressing, or to squeeze on fish or veggies, and no problems so far. I would think a slice of lime is very similar in terms of carbs, etc... they are both citrus fruits.

    What is MIO?

That's a good point. Maybe I'll look up the nutritional information of both and do a comparison. Thanks

My coach said fresh squeezed lime and lemon juice in drinks is just fine. I did it quite a few times and had no issues. Go for it. Have a great night!
  • I had lemon & lime in Phase 1 often. Enjoy yourself!
  • Thanks everyone! I can't wait!
  • The Kraft Brand foods website for Mio says "MiO is sweetened with sucralose, a calorie-free, artificial sweetener that is 600 times sweeter than sugar. To maintain color and freshness, MiO does use certain preservatives and artificial colorings." I am experimenting this week using no Mio (I usually only use it in my evening waters) to see if taking away the sucralose will help in my loss.

im curious to see the outcome. keep us posted!!!
  • My coach quit using Mio (and didn't change any thing else) and has lost an avg 3.5 lbs per week since, instead of her usual 2.5 lbs. SO I quit using Mio immediately, you know, just in case.
  • This is exactly why people need to be educated on how fat loss works.

Calories dictate fat loss or gain. So lets take a look at this question.

Can I have a slice of lime in my water?

A slice of lime might have 2 calories, if that. Having one in your sparkling water might extract 1 calorie into your drink, if that.

Lets say you go hog wild and have five slices of lime in your water total. At most you will have added 10 calories to your meal.

Well, then we're lucky to have you here, on your one man crusade to educate us all.
