  • Hey everyone! Just wanted to get some feedback from everyone on an obstacle I'm facing this week...I was so pumped weighing in on Monday at 221.8, 4lbs down from my starting weight, slight loss on Tuesday (-.2) but for the last 2 days I've steadily risen! Yesterday was 223-point-something, and this morning I was suuuper late for work so I forgot to weigh in. What do you guys think could be happening? I've stayed within my nutritional guidelines and have been working out regularly (6 days a week, rest on Sunday) could it be water?

And before anyone asks, no I haven't been taking my measurements, even though I know I should. Just a little discouraged Anyone else experience this kind of thing at the beginning of their journey? Would def appreciate any advice!

All things considered though, tomorrow will be a good day. I'm FINALLY getting my hair cut and colored - been lookin' a little scraggly lately...and hairdresser day is latte day. Non-fat, of course

    Much love, chicks!

  • Give it time. The scale is an imperfect measure of this journey. It's the easiest so most of us use it, anyway, but it will go up when you're sure it should go down and vice versa. Try graphing your weight. It's a much better measure of progress to see the trend over a month or six weeks than day to day.
  • Have you read the water weight sticky? You will find it helpful.
  • Take measurements

Have you been pooping? If you're doing everything right then yes it is just water, stick with it and it'll come off in a whoosh.. keep going you're doing great!
  • It might be because you're going to have your TOM soon?
  • We've all heard that you can lose 2 lbs. per week. But that doesn't mean that every week we will drop those 2 lbs. until we hit goal. It just doesn't work that way. It's an uneven slide down that weight-loss slope.

Give yourself time, you'll catch up with yourself eventually.
  • gardenerjoy: Thank you, I was actually thinking about doing that this morning! And P.S. your story is inspiring!
DietVet: I did read it, juuuuust after I posted this. Very useful...made me feel so much better!
LeilaJey: Must find my tape measure!!

Now that I think about it, I probably am nearing my TOM soon, so I'm just going to keep going and re-check the scale in about a week. Thanks for the feedback everybody!!
  • stop weighing yourself every day! youll go CRAZY
